WINIFRIDA MAHENYE is a community development practitioner with massive experience, knowledge and skills in community development and participatory project planning and management. She has been nominated in different leadership position during her study at Tengeru Institute of Community Development (TICD). While at TICD, she served as the Vice President of the College Students Organization in which she served for one-year period.

WINIFRIDA holds a bachelor degree in Participatory Project Planning and Management from TICD. Additionally, Winifrida holds also an Ordinary Diploma in Community Development from TICD. Winifrida believes that serving the community by assisting to improve representation and inclusivity in the Social, Economic and Political engagement for youth, women, voiceless groups and highly marginalized community by policy and practices is a key commitment to her.  She has taken assertive and most active role in political, social and community engagement in the Country since her adulthood.

Her grand vision is to represent and work for the under-represented groups within the realm of social, economic and political spectrum. She sees herself as a champion for gender equality, and she want to showcase her skills, passion and experience in community development to young women of Tanzania, and marginalized groups inclusive.

Winifrida’s tireless efforts in community development and mobilization for resources and funds, has saw her climbing the highest level of her social ladder within her community in Tarime  District Mara Region. She has, for instance been an active advocate for eradication of all bad traditional practices within her community.
